Why tallow?
Talo started at our own kitchen counter, not as a business. We wanted to know what was actually in the soap and lotion our family used every day — and once we started reading labels, we didn't love the answer. Most mass-market products are stretched with harmful chemicals and unnecessary fillers: cheap substitutes standing in for the real, quality ingredients that actually benefit your skin.
So we started making our own. Before synthetic moisturizers, there was tallow — rendered animal fat, close in composition to the oils your own skin already produces. We source ours from grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle and render it ourselves, then work it into soap, balm, and lip balm with organic botanicals and essential oils. Nothing synthetic. Nothing you can't pronounce. What we started making for our own family, we now make for yours.
